The Slacker portable comes with a free basic service to Slacker radio. It allows you to skip songs up to six times an hour, and will play 1-2 commercials per hour. The premium service costs $7.50 per month (or $3.99 a month if you pay for the whole year). That gives you the ability to skip as many songs as you want, play any song on demand, eliminates commercials and allows you to save songs to your player. The player comes with a USB cable, and a nice carrying case. If you want to try something different, the Slacker portable looks like the best change of pace for the price.
