19 Feb 09 Teclast M50HD is built like a Tank, literally
Teclast has just announced their latest PMP called the M50HD. The Press release talked more about the design of the player, rather than its features. Teclast claims the M50HD is made with a military-grade Zinc-Magnesium alloy, capable of withstanding higher temperatures and pressure. Even the screen is toughened up with a "super tempered" Polysilicon glass panel.
The M50HD has a funky retro interface from the looks of it. As the HD suffix suggests, it supports 720P high definition video. That's kind of useless since it's 4.3" screen maxes out at a 800 x 480 resolution. Thankfully there is TV-out support. It supports the same formats as other MP4 players nowadays, including FLAC, RM, Xvid and Divx. We all want our gadgets to be tough, but this seems like overkill. Perhaps they're building these for their national army or something.
