22 Dec 08 Pasen might have a winner with the REI-16

There have been countless iTouch clones over the past two years, most falling well sort of matching the original's smooth interface. Pasen, an Italian company, have made a few sub-par attempts of their own, but their newest looks to hit its stride. It's called the "REI-16", and we're officially keeping an eye on it from this day forward. B4Tech, a distributor for Pasen, got their hands on an early model and provided the video you see below. The GUI looks nice but is far from original, taking inspiration from the iPod touch and Samsung P2. All the same, we're still on board considering where this is coming from and the features included for the price.

Full specs have not been provided, but so far we know it has a 3.0" touchscreen (MVA display), TV-out, microSDHC expansion, built-in speakers, and a game emulator (NES, Gameboy, etc..). Based on previous Pasen players, we can also assume it supports FLAC, APE, Xvid, and Divx. The 8GB model is slated to arrive in January for just $130.
