30 Sep 09 Cowon forgets about DAP’s to make a USB Drive
| I just looked in on Cowon’s Korean site to see if that rumor about the E2 and iAudio 9 was true. Instead, their front page greeted me with a flat piece of metal with the words ‘Don’t Forget Me” on the front. A new MP3 player perhaps? Nope. It looks like Cowon is now in the flash drive business.
The UM1 is a fairly thin USB drive ranging in size from 2 to 16GB’s. It comes in “Chrome Black” or “Glossy Gold”, which gives the drive a high-end look. It has a loop-hole at the top, and is apparently waterproof according to Cowon. The UM1 ranges in price from 18,900 to 75,900 Korean Won, or about $16 to $64US. As long as Cowon remembers to keep making great MP3 players, I’m fine with whatever else they want to get into. |
